Inspired by space exploration.
Staying true to the brands innovative and non-conformist DNA, adidas subsidiary Y-3 has launched its latest model, dubbed the Y-3 NOCI 0003, which is available now in limited numbers.
The NOCI sneaker is a daring expression of provocative design and confidence. True to their innovative and non-conformist DNA, Y-3 have transformed conventional sneaker design in building the NOCI from many elements and fragments, and in condensing production lead times by half – from fourteen months to six.
The NOCI is based on a concept for a rugged space hiker, inspired by imagining what would be needed for space exploration on foot. The upper is constructed of breathable air meshes, combined with soft leathers, Upper support and foot protection is given through moulded TPU welds in the heel and toe area. Allowing for multiple close options, the boot can be regularly laced or worn loose fitted with a minimal lacing and zip fastening. The outsole is a futuristic take on adidas feet you wear technology from the early 1990's. Featuring round surfaces for comfort and versatility and angled stability and protective elements.
The special edition NOCI 0003 is available now in limited numbers from www.y-3.com. The NOCI inline model will be available from January 2017.
