The State of Jordan Resell (Spring 2016)
If you've been thinking about getting in the sneaker game to be a reseller, you might just want to hold that thought. In a recent study by StockX, sneaker sales shows the resell market took a dive leaving resellers one million dollars less richer than the previous year.
Still thinking about being a reseller? Don't be discouraged just yet. Look at sneaker reselling market from a Stock Market standpoint and Jordan being your stock. Although profit margins are currently low for resellers, they are essentially holding on to shares of stock and in the long run those shares will sell – just maybe not as fast. The problem may be caused by the reseller's expected turnover or due to the increase in the retail price to $190 or even Jordan Brand producing more pairs. However, Retro Jordans are not dying and according to StockX, resell is fine and retail is fine.
Below are some graphs and charts to break everything down for you if you're still on fence.
