As part of the second installment of our Barneys New York Sole Series, the NYC fashion retailer has connected with adidas Consortium to launch an exclusive Stan Smith and Superstar styles, redesigned with a Barneys New York twist.
As a follow-up on past successful collaborations with Adidas, this season BNY gave a new spin to the iconic Stan Smith and Superstar. The two exclusive styles, which are available in both men’s and women’s sizes, are a modern take on the classic design. The team was inspired to create a pared-down version, stripping away stitching and embellishments to reveal a smooth, clean sneaker in its simplest form. Glossy white leather is used throughout and is laser-cut to etch recognizable Stan Smith and Superstar detailing, as wells as the Barneys New York logo. As each pair is deconstructed, special design nuances are revealed including an unlined interior and a leather Superstar shell toe, which is normally made from rubber.
